Headache Home Remedies

There are many different kinds of headaches that can affect an individual. Some of these headaches include migraines, sinus headaches, headaches due to vision problems, cluster headaches, and many other kinds of headaches. There are medications that are offered over-the-counter, and prescription medications that are available to help reduce the pain that is associated with headaches. Some of these medications have proven to be effective for many people, while many people still suffer from the pain associated with headaches even with medications. There are many headache home remedies that many people do not consider when they are battling this painful medical condition. Here, you will find a list of effective headache home remedies that may help you to successfully alleviate the pain that you experience.

1) The first headache home remedy is probably the most effective and least attempted. If you are experiencing a headache, you should ask someone to assist you with a massage. A massage should be done to the shoulders, up. It should cover the shoulders and all the areas to the top of the scalp. It should be done with consistency and a firm hand until some type of relief is accomplished. This can result in the tension in your muscles and your head to be relieved. Most of the time, this is very successful in alleviating headaches that are troublesome. 2) The second headache home remedy is to try to take natural herbs to alleviate a headache. One of the most popular natural remedies to alleviate the pain associated with a headache is Feverfew. In addition to Feverfew, many people have found relief by taking Valerian Root. These natural herbs work to alleviate the tension in the muscles, relax you, and also to act as a liaison with the pain transmitters in the brain. This headache home remedy is quickly becoming quite popular when it comes to soothing the symptoms that are associated with a headache. 3) The third headache home remedy is to practice placing compresses on the head. You should go between a hot compress, and a cold compress. You can choose whether to use a washcloth with hot water and then with cold, or you can choose to use a heating pad and an ice pack. It is important to change between temperatures at least once every half hour. This will help with the pain and any swelling that may occur as a direct result of the headache. 4) The fourth headache home remedy is quite unusual, but it is very effective. Simply apply pressure to the patch of skin on the hand that is between the index finger and the thumb. This has been found to subside the pain that is associated with a headache.

If you wish to try one of these headache home remedies, it is important to first discuss it with your doctor. The information contained in this article that refers to headache home remedies is not meant to take the place of any medical advice that you may receive from a professional.
