Home Remedies for Sunburn

Most adults have experienced some level of sunburn at one point or another in their lives. There are many different degrees of sunburn. A person may experience a light sunburn, or a heavy burn. It depends on the skin type of the individual and the amount of time that they were exposed to the sunlight. If you are in a situation where you have received a sunburn, there are many ways that you can seek relief from the burning and stinging of this condition. While there are many sunburn relief products available, there are many home remedies for sunburn relief that one can implement. Here, you will learn the home remedies for sunburn.

The first home remedy for sunburn relief is to use whole milk. It is important that the whole milk that you use for this is extremely cold. You may want to take the milk and place a cup of it in the freezer for a short amount of time. It is best to do this for about five minutes. Once the whole milk has been placed in the freezer for about five minutes, you will then take it out and place it on a cloth. You should then stand in a shower without the water running and dab the whole milk on the areas of your body that are sunburned. Once you have allowed the areas of the skin that are sunburned to soak in the cool milk for a little while, you should then rinse off with cool water. The milk should be allowed to soak the body for approximately a half an hour.

The second home remedy for sunburn is to use aloe Vera. This particular ingredient is very beneficial in treating sunburn. Aloe Vera helps the body to heal properly. In addition to that, it helps add much needed moisture to the skin. When a person experiences sunburn, the skin becomes extremely dry. When a person uses aloe Vera, the skin will regain much needed hydration. Aloe Vera is quite effective in soothing the burning sensation that is experienced with sunburn.

The third home remedy for sunburn is to mist tea over the area that is affected. The tea should be cool and not contain any sugar at all. It can be placed in a spray misting bottle. Once the tea is contained in the spray misting bottle, you can spray the areas that are sunburned and allow the tea to soak into the skin. Some people also sprinkle some St. Johns Wort into the spray bottle to alleviate the burning sensation in the body. If you prefer not to use tea in the spray misting bottle, you can mix some cold water and baby oil in order to produce the same effects.

There are many home remedies that are available for sunburn. It is important that you never place items, like butter, on a sunburn. You must work towards hydration to the skin and also relief from the burning sensation that may occur.
